Since 1996, Pedal Revolution has been training at-risk youth and teaching them bicycle repair, customer service and sales. Our used bikes come to us as donations from people like you! Please consider donating your old bike to our program. All your donations are fully tax-deductible, plus you get the satisfaction of supporting our training program for at-risk youth, recycling a bike, and helping your neighbors leave their cars at home.
We are always grateful to receive donations. Here are some guidelines:
| • |
Bikes should be in a good maintainable state. Please, no severe rust, damage, or disrepair. |
| • |
Road bikes are what we love to work on -- any decent road bike, whether it is an older steel vintage type or a newer racing type. Our youth learn hard skills by refurbishing these. |
| • |
Department store bikes from Target or Wal-Mart-type stores such as Huffy, Pacific, Magna and Mongoose brands aren't maintainable, as they are often made with lower quality parts that have a limited lifespan and cannot be replaced or repaired with the assurance of bike safety. We cannot accept these. |
| • |
We welcome mountain bikes and hybrids that are currently in good, maintainable condition, storage space permitting. |
| • |
Bike parts and tools are accepted as long as they are in decent working shape. |
| • |
We don't have the capacity to accept every donation that comes our way. While we love receiving donations, storage is limited at Pedal Revolution and sometimes we have to turn away good donations. It's a matter of timing, so feel free to call us before you drop off a donation. |
